This Privacy Policy explains how BarVibz IP, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BarVibz mobile application (the “App”) and related services. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
We use your information to operate the App: create and secure your account, show nearby venues and events, enable check-ins and rewards, share your location with friends you approve, deliver notifications you enable, show location-relevant offers, respond to reports and support requests, and keep the community safe.
Sharing your location with friends is always under your control. You choose which friends can see your location, and you can turn sharing off per-friend or entirely at any time. If you have not enabled location sharing for a friend, they cannot see your location. You can also revoke the App’s location permission in your device settings, though core discovery features will be limited.
With other users: your profile, check-ins, reviews, events, and location are visible to other users only according to your settings and friendships. Private notes are visible only to you.
With service providers: we use trusted providers (such as cloud hosting, map services, and messaging delivery) to operate the App. They process data only on our behalf.
For legal reasons: we may disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
If you provide your phone number, we may send you text messages for account verification and, if you opt in, invitations and notifications from friends or venues you follow. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, excluding the messaging providers that deliver texts on our behalf. Offers shown in the App are served by us based on your general location within the App. We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
We keep your information while your account is active. Location history is retained only as long as needed to power app features and is automatically deleted after 7 days. When you delete your account, your personal data — profile, friends, check-ins, messages, notes, photos, and location history — is permanently deleted from our systems, except where retention is required by law.
You can permanently delete your account at any time in the App: Profile → Settings → Security → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is intended for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we learn that an underage person has created an account, we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can exercise most of these directly in the App (edit your profile, delete content, delete your account) or by contacting us at support@barvibz.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the App, and the “Effective Date” above will be updated.
